Turn on/off saved logins, login sync and login autofill in Firefox for Android

Firefox lets you save passwords and automatically fill them in if you've enabled saving and autofill. Here's how to change your settings.

Enable/disable saved passwords

  1. Tap the three-dot android menu icon menu button.

  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Logins and passwordsPasswords .
  4. Tap Save logins and passwordsSave passwords.
  5. Choose one of the following:
    • Ask to save – Allows you to choose which passwords to save
    • Never save – Will not save passwords nor prompt you
Tip Turn on autofill to automatically fill in your saved passwords when you visit a website.

View, edit or delete saved passwords

This includes passwords you've saved while using Firefox, as well as synced passwords from Firefox on other devices.

  1. Tap the three-dot android menu icon menu button.

  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Logins and passwordsPasswords .
  4. Tap Saved passwords. (You may need to release using the unlock method configured on your device).
  5. Tap on any of the passwords on the list to view or copy it.
  6. To edit or delete a password, tap the three-dot menu at the top right and choose Edit or Delete.
To sort your passwords, tap Saved passwords to expand the menu. From here, you can sort by name (A-Z) or by date of last use.

Manually add saved passwords

  1. Tap the three-dot android menu icon menu button.

  3. Tap Logins and passwordsPasswords .
  4. Tap Saved passwords (You may need to release using the unlock method configured on your device).
  5. Tap Add password.

Sync passwords

Turning on this option lets you access your passwords across all synced devices.

  1. Tap the three-dot android menu icon menu button.

  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Logins and passwordsPasswords .
  4. Tap Sync passwords.
  5. Follow the steps on the screen to pair your device via a QR code or by email login.

Turn on autofill

There are two settings available to autofill your saved passwords when you visit a website or app:

  • Autofill in Firefox – on by default
  • Autofill in other apps – off by default
  1. Tap the three-dot android menu icon menu button.

  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Logins and passwordsPasswords .
  4. Tap the switch next to Autofill in Firefox or Autofill other apps to turn autofill on or off.
