Helo,
Can you share more detail about the issue you're experiencing? Without more detail, there's not much we can do to help.
When posting questions, it's helpful to include information such as your operating system, browser version, specific error messages, and the steps you've taken to try solve the issue. This kind of context allows the community members to provide a more accurate and effective solution.

Thank you for the explanations. However, I don't fully understand, what folder you are talking about. Is it a bookmark folder? What does it contain? How did you locate it before?

Hi,
If you can't find all of your bookmarks and bookmark folders in Firefox, try adding the Bookmarks Menu icon to your Bookmarks Toolbar (and then using it to access your bookmarks):
- Click the menu button
, select "More tools" and click "Customize toolbar…"
- A special tab will open which allows you to drag and drop items in or out of the overflow menu and the toolbar.
-
- Drag the Bookmarks menu
item to the toolbar.
- Click the Done button.
Let us know if this solves the problem.
- For other ways to customize Firefox, see Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars.
- To learn more about Firefox bookmarks, see Bookmarks in Firefox.
I SHOULD BE MORE CLEAR
I CREATED FOLDERS, I CAN SEE ALL OF THEM BUT i don't wWANT To Open each one to find a particular book mark. i want to immediately locate a folder of which i know the name instead of spending ages looking for it
or to put another way; how do i find a lost folder named "cars" that i created ages ago and haven't seen since
thanks
Oh, now I see.
First of all, when searching in the address bar, you can choose to search among Bookmarks (a blue star) next to "This time search with". Then just enter your folder's name, and the bookmarks from this folder will show up.
Also, you can access a full list of your bookmarks in the folder and manage them in the Library window. Head to menu -> Bookmarks -> Manage bookmarks, enter your folder's name in the opened window's search bar, right-click any of the results and select Show in Folder.

hi Denys
afraid i can't make that work, each method produced lots of bookmarks but not the single bookmark thats in the folder named "test" any idea what i could be doing wrong thanks
Hi,
Sorry, I've misled you. It works for me since I additionally use tags (and always include one with the folder name for each bookmark).
There seems to be no such built-in functionality in Firefox. However, there are extensions that provide it – e.g., check out Bookmark search plus 2.
Here are two other methods for finding a lost folder -- if you know any bookmark in the folder:
(1) "Show in Folder"
You can run a search in the Library window (Ctrl+Shift+O as in Organizer, or Manage Bookmarks).
Use the tiny search box at the upper right to search for a bookmark in the lost folder.
When you spot the relevant bookmark on the search results list, right-click it and then click "Show in Folder".
The display should change, with the left column hierarchy expanded to the folder where that bookmark is stored.
(2) Use the Edit Bookmark panel
Through the address bar, load a page from the lost folder.
Click the blue star at the right end of the address bar to open the Edit Bookmark panel.
You'll see the name of the folder on a button, but look for a button to the right that has a "V"-like icon. That will open a little tree diagram of the folder hierarchy and show where the folder is located.
thanx every one..i'll try that, but it sure seems like a roundabout way to find a folder...i keep thinking new versions will improve it
any thoughts? maybe theres an add on?
