I closed Firefox browser on my computer completely today, when all my tabs were still open. Usually, if I do that and then open Firefox again, it restores all my tabs automatically.

I want to avoid that to prevent other people using my computer from seeing my tabs, but I don't currently have access to my computer, only my phone.

In other words, I want to disable my previously open tabs from opening when Firefox is opened.

Here is what I did: 1. Signed in with Firefox on my phone 2. Synced 3. Deleted history 4. Went to *phone* browser settings and chose not to restore tabs (in settings - advanced).

Would that be enough or is there something else I can do?

Thank you.

hii please follow the step to disable your previously open tabs from opening when Firefox is opened.

Go to about:home, and click settings. On the General tab, check to make sure your current homepage is not set to multiple tabs. Homepage links will be separated by '|'.

This isn't what I asked... Thanks anyway.

You may want to follow these steps and confirm "Restore Previous sessions" is disabled.

  • Click the menu button Fx57Menu and select Options.
  • Select the General panel.
  • Below Startup unselect Restore previous session.
  • Close the about:preferences page. Any changes you've made will automatically be saved.

When you are using your desktop Firefox, the Operating System has "user accounts", and with those enabled and a password being in place NO ONE else would be able to use any application of yours, including Firefox; without knowing the User Logon Account username & password (as it is called in Windows, although Mac and Linux have a similar "User" feature).

That is the "first line of defense"; unfortunately Firefox doesn't provide a "2nd line of defense", which few applications provide either.

And the Firefox Master Password protects your logon data from being used and from being viewed, but it not a protection for blocking access for another person merely using Firefox when a user name and password aren't needed.

Now, with not being able to access your desktop, you are SOL to doing much of anything to "fix" the situation, as I read your question.
