Hello, Yesterday afternoon Thunderbird quit downloading/uploading my main email account (GMail) mail! I have taken the advice from several searches for an answer, but nothing seems to correct this. Has anyone had this occur recently and found an answer?? BTW, I have used GMail POP (rather than IMAP) since I prefer to download and save what I find to be "timeless" information.

Go to gmail and check to see if the option for Less Secure Apps is still turned on. If you were using IMAP then you could change the authentication method from normal password to oauth2. For some reason gmail only allows that for IMAP and SMTP servers, not POP.

Hey Airmail (!), MANY THANKS!!!!! The problem was with the Google that "Less Secure Apps" was not ON. Somehow I had turned it off yesterday. I'd finally took Google's announcement link, when opening my GMail about to look at the functions, and had turned it off after going through most all of their 500 <G> choices of operations. Anywho, I had my suspicions that the problem was either with their Servers or some part of the Net itself. Mark
