The timestamp on messages is off by an hour. How do I fix this?

I sent myself a message from a website and downloaded it using Thunderbird. The time stamp was an hour later than when I had sent it. IE: I sent a message at 7:30pm. A minute later when I retrieved it using Thunderbird, the time stamp said 8:30pm.

I'm on the East coast I doubt it has anything to do with the website I used.

I never had this problem using Outlook.

Is there some way to adjust the time stamp?
