i have google tablet, why do you only support phones?
I have a tablet...not a phone. When I download your app, it tells me I need a device (phone). Why can't tablets without phones use this?
Chosen solution
Firefox mobile requires a CPU that supports the ARMv7 instruction set. Searching on the WM8650 suggests that it has support for ARMv6. Which makes it incompatible with Firefox mobile.

By 'Google Tablet' do you mean the T-Mobile G-Slate? If not, what is your tablet and where are you installing Firefox from? Where are you seeing a message indicating that you need a 'phone'?
Here's a list of devices which are currently supported: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/Platforms/Android#System_Requirements
Please note that additional support for large screen tablets will become available in Firefox 6 which is slated for release on August 16.

Thanks.
It is an 8" google 2.2 android tablet (made in China) When I try to download FF, it won't install, and tells me I need to have a device to install. I assume it means phone, as it is certainly a 'device'. There have been occasional other android apps that I have had the same message. It seems some developers are leaving out the devices that have no phone?? Thanks for any help.
Is this thing manufactured by Google? If not who makes it?
Thing?? This is a new MID 8003 Google Android 2.2 8" Touchscreen Tablet PC. Who actually, literally manufactures it is beyond my scope.
It becomes frustrating when you try to help people, but they don't identify the product they've got properly and you end up running around in circles trying to figure out what it is exactly that they've got. So you appear to have a MID 8003.
As far as I can tell, that has a VIA8605 processor which means it doesn't meet the minimum requirements to qualify for Firefox support, the latter of which requires an ARMv7 CPU.
Perhaps you can compare your tablet with the one on this site just in case the system specs in your model differs from the one described there: http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/443759470/8inch_cheap_MID.html

Well, thank you. I guess that settles that! Perhaps Google does not want competitive browsers? :(
