how can I get automatic translation of chinese text?

when chatting with chinese contacts i would like their text to be translated into english. I would also like back translation so I can communicate seamlessly. Is this possible in Firefox and how can I set it up? Is it possible to show the chinese text in skype , msn messenger, yahoo or QQ?
