To install Firefox on iOS/iPadOS you do so at the Apple App Store. You need iOS 15.0 or later to install. Google Play is for Android devices. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/install-firefox-your-ipad-iphone-or-ipod

If while on the Firefox page on Apple App Store it says OPEN instead of GET then that means you likely have Firefox installed and it should be as one your app shortcuts to start Firefox.

Thank you for your help.

Unfortunately, as a tech troglodyte, I must have left something behind from the uninstall process.

I uninstalled b/c the app had become so unstable I couldn’t read a sentence before the page disappeared.

Now, the App Store believes I have Firefox installed and it opens my old shortcut page for a couple of seconds, before it disappears.

There is still a Firefox icon in the apps section, which takes me to an “allow Firefox to access” page.

Thanks,
