I have tried to follow instructions but the reply i copied from clipboard had too many characters or have i got it all wrong . I feel I will have to stick with Supanet's web page . Lets forget it I just get confused sorry

The problem is possibly Avast. It does generates a certificate on the fly, and then intercepts your secure connection to the server. Try to disable the Mail Shield in Avast and see whether that makes a difference. Better yet, get rid of Avast altogether, and simply use the Windows built-in Defender.
Thank you for your help I will consider the solution and talk it over with someone more knowledgeble, he introduced me to Avast. Thank you for your help I will leave it there and finish this for the moment having other problems to deal with at this age! .Thank you again
