recipients of my Thunderbird attachments complain they are too small to read. What to do?
Seems the font size is minimized from the original 8.5 by 11 to 4 by 6 inches

Does this happen for every recipient of Excel attachments? Without knowing what is happening at the receiver's end, it's hard to recommend anything. If you send them an xlsm attachment through the webmail interface of your account, does it still show up too small?

What kind of attachments? Are they pdf files, word documents (.docx), .jpg , etc.? Or is it the same with all types?
Also, what is the source of the attachment? Scanner, word processor, camera, etc.

I dragged an ms excel file (xlsm) to attachment box. For confidentiality, I can't post file.
Dragged from USB .
TB has no effect on the font or page size of Excel attachments. The problem is more likely due to the app used by recipients to view xlsm files, which may be different from MS Excel.
What should they do at their end? Thanks loads.
In Excel there should be a slider that sets the zoom in the bottom right corner.
edit: added second view that wasn't so small. :P

File to me was perfect size. I didn't think of this simple test and thank you for your time. i will have the recipient resize at their end.
