My program tags many things as junk when I try to read them, even from people in my address book. Is there any way to stop this?

This has occurred now through many upgrades over the last year or more. I don't even need Thunderbird to do any junk filtering as comcast does a good job with this on their end. I have tried just turning junk filtering off in thunderbird but that doesn't seen to help. It appears completely random. Messages I get from the same users (in my adddress book, yet) may suddenly be tagged as junk and dissapear into a junk mailbox when I click on them. Note they are not tagged as junk before arriving in my inbox but when I click on them to read them. This is almost a daily occurence for me.
