How to refresh IMAP folders
Why is this help site so useless? I can never find anything I need on here, This time I simply want to learn how to refresh (or sync) my IMAP folders, but can I find out how to do that? Too right I can't!
No search using the word 'refresh' comes up with anything helpful. Give me a break guys!

I do agree, when creating a new IMAP folder, the folder should be visible right away. Who is your email provider? Depending on which server software your provider uses the behavior may be different. Have you checked with your email provider about this?
You may try to select another account in the folder pane (e.g. Local Folders), and then select your IMAP account again. This may be the closest thing to a 'refresh'.

I suppose we're talking about the Thunderbird support web site: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/products/thunderbird How about you refine your search terms? E.g. like 'sync imap'?
Note that Thunderbird IMAP synchronization isn't exactly a 'refresh'.

What are you trying to achieve in the first place?
Thanks christ1... apologies for my rather irate posting. I was having a bad day!
I'm finding that when I create or delete or rename a folder, in Thunderbird, the change isn't apparent (it doesn't display) unless I quite Thunderbird and open it again. It's not a big inconvenience, but I'm surprised there isn't a 'Refresh' menu item which has the same effect.
Cheers!

I think the problem was just that I was using a slow Internet service at the time. Now that I'm on a faster Internet connection Thunderbird is working well. However, I do think that a 'Refresh' button, or menu item, would be a good thing. Thanks!
