Disqus comment box not loading in Firefox
The Disqus comment box stopped loading on my site in Firefox (using Firefox 21) on PC or Mac. It started a few days ago; you have to refresh the page in order for it to load and sometimes not even that works. I tested and it loads in any other browser with no problem. I also tested on my old computer (using Firefox 17) and it's not loading. I haven't made any changes or updated anything (template, plugins, etc.) on my site since this started to happen. I appreciate any help and/or suggestions. Thanks!

Check the web site. Is it having problems? Also check any add stopping programs you are using.
Clear the cache and the cookies from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
- Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
- Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window or otherwise make changes.
I did as suggested above with the following results:
Firefox 23 with add-ons disabled will pull up Disqus thru www.alternet.org. It will not do the same for www.commondreams.org, With add-ons enabled, Disqus will not work at all.
Also tested using IE8 and both sites work fine.

Make sure addons like Ghostery are not blocking Ghostery by accesing its options and unchecking disqus. Which addons do you have?
Thanks for the response. I removed Ghostery, and disabled NoScript. Still no progress.I have 60 enabled and 8 disabled add-ons at this point.
Surprisingly, I can get into the Disqus web site itself. Trying to access comments on any site that uses it is the problem -- stuck in "load".

Hello,
Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)
- You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
- Or open the Help menu and click on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item while Firefox is running.
Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"
If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article for that.
To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.
Thank you.
I have isolated the problem to HTTPS Everywhere 3.3.1 (from the EFF) and have reported it to them -- I have it disabled as of now.
Thanks for the responses.

In Safe Mode, DISQUS worked fine in MLB.com. I started disabling add-ons one by one. Finally I found the offending one: Avast! Online Security 8.0.1489.
If Disqus doesn't work in safe mode, type "about:config" in the address bar and set security.csp.enable to false.
I set security.csp.enable to false - and restarted Firefox, but Disqus still will not work. By the way, disabling Avast does not work either. If I disable ALL "add-ons," it works. Otherwise, I have resigned myself to the fact that I must use Google Chrome instead.

I've been struggling with the same problem. I've had Avast and Firefox forever on this laptop, and been using disqus with no problems (other than the usual disqus hiccups, of course).
The newest Avast totally blocks disqus in Firefox...but not in Chrome. I even turned off all the active shields in Avast, and they still don't show up.

wildbill562, I was able to disable just the the avast! add-on (avast! Online Security 9.0.2006.53) today, and now disqus works in Firefox. (Note: I tried it yesterday, but until I got the new avast! program this morning, that plugin would not let itself be disabled.)
