Secure Connection Failed
When following a link from a news website I keep getting this message - Secure Connection Failed - The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified. It loads on my iPhone and other browsers using the same link. What setting do I need to address to get this to stop?

Spoke too soon! Shut down re-boted and quit 1Passport but problem has returned!
Haven't found any connection bugs for Sophos on file, anything reported was from Windows, not for their macOS offering.
In general Sophos might still (even with any filtering disabled) route the traffic over its "man–in–the–middle" and re–sign stuff (and Firefox would have needed their enterprise roots added to not see that potentially as tampering I'm afraid), not sure why their installation didn't configure the trust roots correctly, or what's the way around it.
You can try, and again — this would normally exhibit with another error messaging — adjusting the connection settings in Firefox prefs searching for "proxy": your current default might be "use system settings" — might be worth switching to "none", or "autodetect", to see any impact.
