How do I get rid of unwanted shortcuts to Amazon and Google?
Tell me how to get rid of the shortcuts to Amazon and Google?
Also, can anyone explain why we must humor some paranoid loony nut-job regarding our passwords?

Open Firefox and click on the three horizontal lines in the top-right corner to open the menu. Select "Options" from the menu. In the Options page, click on the "Home" tab on the left sidebar. Under the "New Windows and Tabs" section, you will find the option "New Tab page." Click on the "Settings" button next to it. In the New Tab page settings, you can customize the content that appears on new tabs. To remove the shortcuts to Amazon and Google, simply uncheck the boxes next to them. Once you have made the desired changes, close the Options page. Regarding your question about passwords, it is important to take password security seriously to protect your online accounts and personal information. Mozilla, the organization behind Firefox, promotes good password practices to ensure user security. While it may seem unnecessary to some, it is a proactive measure to prevent unauthorized access to your accounts and maintain a safe browsing experience.
I do not get "Options" on the original menu, nor on the Setup menu.
Password security for a help site? Please get real. This is just the case of someone who has let a very little power go to his head. Rejecting passwords because they are not "strong" enough is ridiculous for a help site. Now who is going to try to get into someone else's account on a help site? Perhaps someone who think that that might be easier than trying to get help in an approved way?
Options has become Settings. Look on the Search page under Search Suggestions and on the Privacy page under Address Bar.
Do you mean shortcuts on the Firefox Home page ?

Not sure what you mean with the passwords, so maybe attach a screenshot to illustrate that as well or provide more detail.
It was very helpful to tell me that "options" had become "settings".
Yes. I meant the sponsored shortcuts on the home page. I had already turned them off golbally, but that did not work. Someone else here pointed me toward the technique of using the individual settings menu for each shortcut, and that worked.

By passwords I meant the passwords to get to these support pages. Unfortunately, "security" has become even more of a fad than already-torn blue jeans.
