I'm told by the Bank of Hawaii that Firefox is preventing me from contacting them. I get a message with "404" on it, and text that says it might be fake.

I Googled Bank of Hawaii and guess that the URL was the first one listed ( https://www.boh.com/ ). I was able to go to the site fine. Since I don't have an account with them, I can't do that much on the site other than click on various links. Was there something specific at the site you couldn't do or just accessing it in the first place?

Might try going to Help -> Troubleshoot Mode and see if you are able to get to the site then. If so, then perhaps one of your extensions is interfering. More info about Troubleshoot Mode: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/diagnose-firefox-issues-using-troubleshoot-mode
