How to get Firefox address bar to show only desired links instead of FF populating address bar with random links from our search history etc? Thanks
I want Firefox URL to show just the links i put in there and that is it ,and not that Firefox populates URL with random links from history or bookmarks or anything and anywhere like it is doing now ,i want it like it used to be ,if you had 4 addresses in URL for example ,they and only they stayed in URL no matter what you do and browse and that was super neat feature because this one is just ridiculous ,even if you delete unwanted links from address bar Firefox puts another one unwanted in its place and i can not find solution for it so please be kind to provide some guidance on solving this persistent annoying issue because it is pushing me further away from using FF since it was normal thing to have just a few links of your choice not this way it is now ....Thank you very much for your kind help

Currently, Firefox populates the address bar drop-down menu with bookmarks, history items, open tabs and search suggestions from your selected search provider.
You can add/remove specific item types by going to the Address Bar area in the Privacy & Security section of the Firefox preferences. Search suggestions can be enabled/disabled from the Search section of the Firefox preferences.
Currently, you cannot add a list of specific things that you want to display in the drop-down menu. That is not a feature, nor has it ever been.
You can consider to use the Firefox Home page and pin your favorite websites to the tiles.

Thank you for your reply, i am fully aware of the fact that that is not a feature of Firefox but up until approx Firefox release 60 or something like that it was all business as usual that being if you put lets say 4 addresses in your address bar only those 4 stayed there no matter what you browsed or bookmarked further down the road and that is for a fact because i surely know my URL bar was not populating it self with any links no matter what i did unless i put a new ones in there only the desired links were to be found in url bar which is unfortunately not the case for quite some time now and that is a shame
hi, firefox 75 that got released yesterday will now show the first eight of your top sites from the new tab bar in the address bar drop-down menu and you can easily adjust them: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/customize-new-tab-page#w_customize-your-top-sites
