Bookmarks on the bookmark toolbar move around randomly from day to day. How do I fix this?

I recently switched over from Chrome to Firefox Quantum and I have really enjoyed it so far. I'm having an issue that may be a deal-breaker, though. I imported all of my bookmarks to Firefox from Chrome and organized them nicely on my bookmarks toolbar with separators and everything. Every day they seem to get jumbled up without my doing, though, folders and all. By this, I mean they all change places randomly.

I have my home computer synced to my work laptop, but I've made sure to sync both of them last night to ensure that was not the issue before going to sleep. And this morning, lo and behold, the bookmarks are mixed up again. Anyone else have this idea and any proposed solutions? Thanks!

If you have sync, and there is a problem anywhere, Shut Down Sync Immediately On All Devices to prevent the problem from spreading. Once the problem is fixed, perform the same repair on all computers/profiles before using sync again.


Is your work system having the problem also? Anyone else on the sync?


As a test: Close Firefox. Then,

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
