Firefox locks when adding a bookmark.
Just updated to 41.0b9. Now when I right click and choose "Bookmark this link" I get a dialog box that had the title bar and the Save and Close buttons, no fields. Whichever button I choose locks the browser up. I have kill the process and relaunch Firefox.

If I open the link in a new tab and click on the "Bookmark this page" star icon or use Ctrl-D it works fine.
It only locks when I right click on the link and use the context menu.
Other functions of that context menu seem to function fine as well.
This brings to mind cases where the stored path is incorrect, so a program trying to use said path freezes up or crashes altogether. Bookmarks and presumably paths should be part of your profile so... 1) try a new Firefox profile 2) refresh current profile (creates a new profile with your old bookmarks and such, but wipes addons and settings)?
Might want to start Firefox in Safe Mode before doing either, just to see if it would work without add-ons running.
If you have the IE Tab extension then try to disable this extension as there have been issues reported with this extension and bookmarking.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file (bookmarks, history) in the Firefox profile folder.

If the above does not help,
Download Firefox Full Version For All languages And Systems {web link} Save the file. Then;
Using your file browser, open the Programs Folder on your computer.
Windows: C:\Program Files C:\Program Files (x86) Mac: Open the "Applications" folder. Linux: Check your user manual.
• Linux: If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see Install Firefox on Linux. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder Firefox in your home directory.
Look for, and rename any Mozilla or Firefox folders by adding .old to them.
After rebooting the computer, run a registry scanner. Then run the installer. If all goes well, remove the OLD folders when you are done.
Thanks for your responses.
I did start Firefox with a new profile and right clicking on a link and saving it did work.
The dialog looks different which still makes me think it has something to do with the 41.0b9 update. I've been around software long enough to know it could be coincidental or have nothing to with it but am still suspicious.
Using my original profile, if I right click on a link I've already saved that dialog comes up and works. It's only saving NEW links that lock the browser up.
