Topic: Bookmarks and Tabs I recently saved my tab sessions in several bookmarks which I named per topic - eg Bookmark name 'Groupon Tabs', which contains several tabs of Groupon pages I am interested in, to look at later. Today I saw a page which I want to save by adding it to this bookmark. But when I click on 'Groupon tabs' nothing happens - I was expecting to see the list of tabs saved, but I cannot find them. So the question is: a) how can I open eg 'Groupon' tab so I have access to all the tabs it contains b) how do I add a new tab to this bookmark Many thanks in advance.

version 94.0.2 (64-bit) message: "The bookmarks and history system will not be functional because one of Firefox's files is in use by another application. Some security software can cause this problem." I can not see any of my bookmarks and I can not bookmark any page. I have: Shut down Firefox and restarted: no help uninstalled, deleted folders, and reinstalled: no help Import bookmarks from another browser: no help. That doesn't work either

What "security software" is the message talking about?

Hope you can help, because I don't want to go to another browser.

I have a ton of unused tags that cannot be deleted. Apparently unused tags are supposed to be deleted automatically but for some reason they do not. These tags came from a Linux Firefox installation with the Linux distributions bookmarks.

Is there any way to manually delete them from Firefox?

A subfolder in one of my bookmark folders has disappeared from view on my Windows 10 device. It was there as recently as this past week (I use it frequently). It still shows (and contains bookmarks) when I look on my Android device under Desktop Bookmarks. Oddly enough, I decided to bookmark again one of the pages in the missing folder and the star next to the address indicated it's been bookmarked and the subfolder still shows up in the list when I attempted to bookmark it again. It also shows in the Bookmarks list when I go to Manage Bookmarks (as a subfolder where it has always been). Why is it not showing up when I try to access it from my bookmarks list when I click on the Show Your Bookmarks icon? It won't let me screen shot the dropdown menus.

Just refresh my computer, new install of Firefox, but all of my Bookmarks were missing, a collection of 25 years, all gone. Tried to sync with my XP computer, where the originals were, but it too was empty. Found JSONLZ4 files, two of them, one dated today and one dated yesterday. Both empty, is there any way to recover all those bookmarks?

I use the bookmark bar very heavily and my workflow was to just "drag" the tab with the mouse to folder in the bookmark bar, which would unfold and I drop the tab/bookmark in the desired sub-folder.

This worked really well for me, and was fast.

Recently, this stopped working. I can still drop a bookmark in one of the main folders in the bookmark bar. But not in any sub-folder, since the main folder closes as soon as I move the mouse inside it. It is also not possible anymore to move the already-saved bookmarks around via drag&drop.

Using Firefox 94.0

The objective is to change the tags of large numbers of bookmarks. This is to organize existing bookmarks under new categories that help in finding them more easily.

Until some time ago, I used the Library (Ctrl + Shift + O) to first select a batch of bookmarks (whether or not filtered after an existing tag or another criterion); and typed the new tag in the field Tags: at the bottom of the Library dialogue window. If I had to change the tag, I simply wrote the new one; the old one was replaced. If I had to add a tag, I could repeat the old tag and add the new one.

Now, instead, my new tag is appended to each and every bookmark in the batch. This makes it impossible to delete the old tags, unless you do it one at a time. Both doing and undoing become unwieldy when you have tens or hundreds of bookmarks. Also, it defeats the purpose of streamlining, because the number of tags grows.

So, there is a difference in behavior between editing the tag of a single bookmark and the tag of a batch of bookmark. Is this intended? If so, how to work around that? If not, I presume this is bug.
