Hi Roger, Firefox 23 is current, so the message is inaccurate.

Where do you see this message -- some kind of pop-up window?

If you installed something from a questionable source, you may have a rogue extension or worse. Could I suggest:

(1) Run some supplemental security scans. These three tools are highly regarded (and free):

(2) Disable ALL nonessential or unrecognized add-ons on these two tabs (if in doubt, disable):

orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Plugins category
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Extensions category

Exit and restart Firefox to ensure that this takes effect.

Any improvement?
