Running Windows XP Pro 2002 Service pack 2 on Intel PC

Tried to update Firefox manually ( through help about ) Firefox started to download update file automaticaly but when complete got message update failed. Then downloaded Firefox setop 9.0.1 file tried to run but get message file corrupt. Tried chkdsk /f /r through cmd.exe but when restarted PC and tried to run Firefox setup still get file corrupt
