My home page has been replaced with an unidentified search page, how do I get rid?

The URL below is the web search that has replaced my usual homepage. It has no branding and I can't get rid of it. I have only just managed to get rid of an unwanted browser. Any suggestions?

search.conduit.com is a malware that has infected several users. Do you see a toolbar from Conduit? If so, you should try to uninstall it and see if it helps. Removing Conduit completely does not seem to be a straightforward thing. Different users have had varying levels of success with different methods. Some of them are listed in these posts:

See if those steps help you too.

This is a tedious process for a "not got time for this" person as impatient as myself. However, I have used a free Super Anti Spyware to remove the toolbar invader. I think the remaining "search conduit" homepage has gone now and everything appears to be back to normal...........until next time.

Thanks for your reply Dynamite, I am now a little wiser than I was this morning.
