Why can't I play the videos on www.ted.com using FF instead of Explorer?
When opening 'www.ted.com' with explorer I see an initial page with link panels to current videos - I can click on one and it starts playing. When attempting the same with FF 5.0 (freshly downloaded, all add-ons disabled) I get a different start page, with video panels in a list format. Clicking these does not open and start the video. What do I do?

The three video's I tried at http://www.ted.com/ worked for me in Firefox 5.0, and used the Flash Player.
Do you have the Flash Player installed for Firefox? IE uses a different version of Flash - ActiveX than Firefox uses - Plugin, so on Windows PC's you need both versions installed and they appear in the Windows Control Panel as separate versions Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX and Adobe Flash Player 10 Plugin. Which ever browser you use to download Flash, Adobe will the supply the version for that browser.
1.Download the Flash setup file from here:
Adobe Flash - Plugin version.
Save it to your Desktop.
2. Close Firefox using File > Exit
then check the Task Manager > Processes tab to make sure firefox.exe is closed,
{XP: Ctrl+Alt+Del, Vista: Shift+Ctrl+ESC = Processes tab}
3. Then run the Flash setup file from your Desktop.
- On Vista and Windows 7 you may need to run the plugin installer as Administrator by starting the installer via the right-click context menu if you do not get an UAC prompt to ask for permission to continue (i.e nothing seems to happen).
