How do I remove the search ability of the anything but "awesomebar"
There is a perfectly functional search bar in the middle of my homepage. why do I have to search with the anything but "awesomebar"? I have made so many changes to about:config true to false false to true firefox will probably never work again properly. There should be a check box somewhere in settings to toggle this on and off. Newer is not always better

Hi,
This legacy feature has been unsupported for many years. Recently the team decided to finally remove the old code in order to make it easier to develop a new UI. However, since some people were relying on the legacy UI for accessibility purposes, it was decided to revive it, so you can expect it to (temporarily) return in the nearest future.

Hello
browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.improvesearch.handoffToAwesomebar, is it, your question.
Since the release of https://www.firefox.com/en-US/firefox/148.0.2/releasenotes
Fixed an issue where searches entered in the Firefox Home search field were incorrectly redirected to the address bar for some users who had disabled search handoff behavior via advanced settings. (Bug 2017049)
