I installed various extensions that were always visible on the Firefox page but suddenly they disappeared and cannot get any to show. Firefox is up to date, extensions have been disabled and then enabled, and removed and reinstalled.

You can try "Clear the startup cache..." in "Help -> More Troubleshooting Information" (about:support).
