Suddenlink changed to Optimum, and I was cut off. Had been having log on problem anyway.

How do I get Thunderbird/Eudora back in operation with Optimum?

[removed phone# from public]

Not always sure I can get to the direct Altice email site.

You'll have to talk to Optimum. It's their server now, and only they can tell what the correct server settings are. Presumably they also do have a support web site with hat information.

Optimum is no different than Suddenlink...they have no clue to what is Thunderbird. Years ago they helped with Eudora, but then they backed off and don't want you around.

Up everybody's!

They will know their server settings, but you will also discover that it is common for ISP's to only know about their own webmail accounts and do not care if you are using another method.

AS you asked about this problem again on the following day I responded to it sharing the information located on the Optimum website - but as yet have not heard fom you regarding that supplied information.

I went back to Optimum after getting your rather sassy comments. I have used Eudora for maybe 25 years, and loved it. Have never understood why Cox/Suddenlink/now Optimum don't give we payers a software email system of equal value.

This time the guy gave me some passwords and codes, and after they did not work I pointed out why don't we try .net instead. It worked!

I will do the best to avoid bothering you again, ever. I suggest that Thunderbird offer this as a paid venture and invoice us each month, but at the same time, offer good humored help. It's tough out here trying to work and get interrupted by Optimum, who is offering little extra if anything but a larger bill.

re :I will do the best to avoid bothering you again, ever.

You are always welcome to ask any Thunderbird questions. I have no idea why you seem affronted, after all, on this occasion, I found the correct links for you containing the necessary server settings which were on the Optimum website.

You chose to go back to the ISP who still did not know the correct settings nor knew about the information on their own website. It has caused you an unnecessary delay and perhaps effected your mood.

For the benefit of anyone else locating this question - the following links are the identical help information I provided to the question owner in another identical question.
