Good Morning. The thunderbird is not protecting emails with the password. What I wanted is that only by putting the password you would have access to emails, thus getting these protected, on a computer that is used by several people. Is this possible?

Do you mean the Primary or Master Password in TB? Its function is to protect access to the passwords, not the mail. For that purpose, it's best to have password-protected Windows user accounts for each person using the computer. Each user account would then have a TB profile separate, and protected, from the others.
