The reason I ask is: Firefox browser processes runs with reduced privileges to limit the potential damage to your system from attack pages on the web. In the first two scenarios, Firefox may load the program that you're using to view the document with lower privileges than if you load it directly from File Explorer. That might affect some system-level functions like printing.
