An automatic update (60.0) erased my client folders and family folders - how do I recover them?

My OS is 64 bit Windows 7, The T'bird troubleshooting file shows it as an NT OS. I don't know if that contributed to the problem or not. The update was for release 60.0. It was a 32 bit version. Maybe it always was 32 bit, I don't recall.

As far as I know, upon an update being available, I was to notified and asked if I wanted to install it (manually, NOT automatically).

Kaspersky Internet Security (program) flashed the update notification and I think was responsible for installing the update automatically. But, I don't to get involved in a finger pointing argument,

Just tell me how to get the files back. I have to have them for all of my work - I'm an Architect, and for my family records.
