When using Facebook “video call” I can see and hear the recipient but they have no audio.
I am trying to use Facebook “video call” using “Mozilla Firefox” as a browser. I can see and hear the recipient but despite the fact that the screen says that my audio is NOT muted, the recipients can only see me (they have no audio). My “Microsoft Life Cam” and “Skype” are working correctly. My current operating system is Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1. My current browser is Mozilla Firefox Version 48.0. Facebook Video Calling 3.1.0.521 is installed. I am using Realtek HD Audio Manager (Realtek High Definition Audio Driver Version 6.0.1.6257 installed). What I can do to resolve the lack of audio problem?

I haven't tried this Facebook feature myself. Are you using the built-in "camera" button on the FB Chat window? That might use either a built-in Firefox feature or the Flash plugin. Either way, the page would need permission to use your microphone.
If FB uses the internal feature, you can check the Permissions panel of the Page Info dialog while you are on Facebook.
You can call that up using any of these:
- right-click a blank area of the page and choose View Page Info > Permissions
- (menu bar) Tools menu > Page Info > Permissions
- click the padlock or "i" icon to the left of the site address, then the ">" icon, then More Information > Permissions
Scroll down to "Use Your Microphone" and uncheck the "Use default" box, and then select Allow to make sure the microphone is accessible during your call. You can change this back after your call if you are worried that FB or embedded content on FB may be listening to you 24x7.

By the way, I think this program is obsolete and not used any more:

Thank you for your response and your information about “Permissions”.
Originally when I clicked on the camera button I was asked “Would you like to share your camera and microphone with www.facebook.com?” and the two option supplied appeared to be correct.
I have now realised that the microphone option supplied was not correct. I needed to select the microphone option connected to my Microsoft LifeCam VX-2000 instead.
I have now changed my default devices and all is working well.
Thank you once again for your response.
