In the classical search plugin list it was possible to select the search plugin first and then enter several search requests to that non-default search plugin. This is not possible any more and the non-defaul search plugin has to be selected again every time you use it. This is a major drawback compared to the old list. Another drawback is that if you have identical icons you have to wait for the tool tip to appear to see if it is the right search plug in. In other word the new search plugin list has only disadvantages and there is no gain in usability. For me the only solution would be to get back the classical search plugin list. It this possible?

Hello fifouser, try the next :

  1. In the Location bar, type about:config and press Enter. The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page may appear.
  2. Click I'll be careful, I promise! to continue to the about:config page.
  3. copy/paste the next bold browser.search.showOneOffButtons in the search field
  4. double-click on it to, make it false
  5. exit firefox and restart it.

thank you
