Whenever i send a message , it is saved to the 'inbox' previously it would be saved "sent mail". I have verified that TB is configured to save to sent mail but the msg is saved anyway to inbox.

Can some one explain how to get back to saving sent messages to sent mail folder.

In all honesty I find it frustrating to keep moving msgs manually.

I receive a message with Urls at the beginning which are supposed to take you down the page to other places in the message However the Urls are unresponsive

Hello, I have an IMAP acocunt configured, the server is Zimbra and has several shared Inboxes inside my account. Each of these inboxes come with several subfolders (which have the same name in every Inbox), and I would only like to keep some of them displayed in Thunderbird, but the unsubscribe option does not work for a few of them.

I open up the "Subscribe" dialog, I can correctly navigate to the fiolders I want to unsubscribe and click them, which unchecks the mark. I click "Ok" and nothing happens. If I reopen the Subscribe dialog, the folders are checked, as if I did nothing.

Note that I can unsubscribe to most folder, only a couple of them have this problematic behavior.

I have tried enabling/disabling the "Show all folder" option in the Advanced account panel and Enabling/Disabling the local storage for these folders.

I have also tried to unsubscribe the folders, then manually erasing the mbox files and indexes in the account folder before clicking Ok. The msf file are immediately recreated.

In the screenshot, the folders marked with an arrow cannot be unsubscribed, no matter what I tried.

I opened Thunderbird today (technically Betterbird, I don't *think* any of the Betterbird differences would affect this) and my calendar is wider than the screen itself. I have no idea how to fix this. It might've happened because last time it was open, my laptop was connected to a larger monitor. I've attached a picture.

I'm a longtime Thunderbird user. Today, it stopped working to send messages. (I can still receive messages OK.) When I try to send, it does the spell-check, but then doesn't do anything. The message remains open but unsent. In case it's helpful, my account info says IMAP mail server, SSL/TLS connection security, OAuth2 authentication,

For the last 2 months I have been working to configure Thunderbird to fully replace my Gmail UI usage after their recent change to workspace options and using data to train gemini. When you deactivate those gmail features the first thing you lose are tabs for your Inbox, your Updates and your Promotions.

So far I have used tags, ThunderAI, Ollama and a locally hosted LLM to replicate the sorting of my inbox, but now I would like to be able to configure the Thunderbird UI to allow separate tabs in the menu bar for different folders, in this case Inbox, Updates and Promotions. With Inbox still being the gmail hosted main inbox and Updates and Promotions now being local folders stored in my local thunderbird installation.

Can the Thunderbird UI be configured to display folders as tabs as a default setting? I tried the "folder selection" button under customize on the toolbar but that just gives me a drop down, which is not what I want.

I use the filters in Thunderbird a lot, so I am familiar with the setup. I need to automatically forward a message to my wife if it comes in from a specific email address. I cannot see a way to do this. Is it possible?

I can receive outlook e-mail but I cannot send from Thunderbird. I am asked for a password for the specific Microsoft server. I enter my Microsoft account password but this does not work. Security setting is STARTTLS withNormal Password authentification. My other Thunderbird non-MS e-mails are problem free.

I have two computers, both Lenovo. One is an older model running Ubuntu linux and the other is a newer one running Windows 11 and Ubuntu WSL. The plan is to move from the older to the newer. The older model has Thunderbird 140.10.1 esr (64Bit) and I have no problem with it. The newer one came with Windows 11 and Thunderbird 150.0.1 (64Bit) installed. I want to set up the newer computer with the same complement of email accounts as the older. This complement of accounts includes a gmail account, a yahoo account and an account that existed on comcast.net before being moved to yahoo. The latter still retains its comcast.net identity, but is served by yahoo. To support this account, it was necessary to provide Thunderbird 140 with the comcast.net email address, but configure it with yahoo entities underneath. However, this same process does not appear to be supported by Thunderbird 150. It seems to insist on using comcast.net entities, which do not exist anymore. My question is, am I correct in this conclusion, or is there a way, which I have not discovered, to configure the account to work on Thunderbird 150? If so, what might it be? One final note, I am not likely to be unique in the comcast.net issue. I suspect there may be thousands of us.

Hi... so, when I realized that Thunderbird was not able to access Outlook accounts successfully about two years ago, I was offered the opportunity to try Owl as an add-in, which did a splendid job at the time for accessing my Outlook email and saving it/using it within Thunderbird.

But now it's my understanding that Thunderbird supports Outlook email natively, and I've dumped Owl (including turning it off as an add-on within the software), and I cannot receive emails. I tried resetting the password using the method of "deleting the password from the passwords list so that Thunderbird asks for it the next time", but it continues to check for the email at that address, tells me there isn't anything to download, and won't import the mail. I have to be missing something simple, but I cannot put my finger on it.

I've tried a couple of Reddit methods, also no help. Any ideas?

In Thunderbird all of a sudden my sent e-mails are going in to the sent box of ANOTHER e-mail address I have on Thunderbird. I looked at some similar posts and think my settings are correct but obviously not. Please help! Thanks, Adam

got an update for thunderbird and ended up with a different program. the old one would boot into inbox could start with a new email and send right away. After the update it boots into address book can't find anything and want the old program back. Its not supposed to look like a browser with tabs the old one I could run from inbox knew where everything was, the new one looks like it was written by Microsoft. Two pounds of crap in a one pound bag. tell me from what you see how to find the app menu and version

I have a lot of emails stored in different local folders. My search now hang. They go so far than just hang. Is there a way to rebuild the complete indexing for my thunderbird install?

Not sure what you guys were going for with this update, but here are a few issues of many:

-Can't right click to print

-Right click to reply to all does not appear

-Can't right click to open in conversation view no longer appears, meaning I can't respond to add a thought to a message I just sent. Requires addon that works sometimes without a restart

-Emails display in a very thin horizontal stripe making them invisible without clicking the menu and switching to classic view. Sometimes they correct themselves after a time, sometimes they do not.

I have spent literally hours on this - as has my webmaster from LaborArts, and my support desk at Firstlight.net, which provides the email.

I have used Thunderbird as an email platform for decades. in the past few weeks it has stopped keeping copies of sent emails and stopped saving drafts IF they contain any links or photos or anything other than plain text. I get a message allowing me to save it to the local folder on the computer. This is useless, as I use the email via a browser at work AND on computer at home, so it needs to be saved on the server.

Can anyone help? The message exactly reads: "Your message was sent but a copy was not placed in your sent folder (Sent Items) due to network or file access errors. You can retry or save the message locally to Local Folders/Sent Items-rachelb@bestweb.net"

Trying to sync my outlook and gmail calendars in Thunderbird 140.10.1 and consistently getting an error I haven't seen before: "status.Settings.138".
