I am currently using Windows 10 Pro and wondering if putting off the change to Windows 11, will only multiply the number of potential losses, especially if I have disabled One Drive? I have 2 Desktop PC's and two laptops. all but one laptop(its running on 11 Pro), are running on Windows 10 Pro. Do Firefox users recommend taking Microsoft's offer for a free upgrade to Windows 11?

I want to be able to sign in and provide my own backup locally. I would also like to save a word document directly and with the shortest path possible; going from "User/my-username/documents" (same applies to all other data saved, like photos, music...), and not be forced to save to Microsoft's OneDrive. What is most disturbing about One Drive, is that it could be an additional option with its own pathway, rather than holding owners captive to Microsoft and it's objectives that are not chosen for my best interests.

I wonder how many Windows users even know that all of his/her information/data are First saved to a Microsoft cloud. Norton shares the options with you and gives the user the choice to backup in it's cloud

I don't have a problem of having my computers locally synced, but I do not want to be trusting Microsoft to have my computers sync in it's cloud. I personally, do not have any critical reason to have all of my computers sharing information. My desktops are each being used for unrelated tasks.

When/if the day comes that corporations like Microsoft, share it's suggestions, and are allowing the user to choose from the beginning, rather than making decisions for the owner of his/her computer, forcing them to discover what Microsoft has chosen and how to undo the choice without the risk of losing one's data; I will want to use my PC's locally, without being forced to log in with a Microsoft account.

I have read and watched many reviews that are suggesting/wanting to exit Microsoft's "ownership" of his/her computer, providing ways to turn off choices like One Drive and/or remove it completely.

Does Firefox have an opinion on this subject(emphasis being One Drive) and will I be OK with my Firefox account providing a backup of all data related to my use of Firefox? I have each computer backed up locally. Until things are turned around and all choices are turned back over to the local owner of his/her PC, I have a hard time of trusting any corporation selling my information.

My desktop icon has disappeared. It is still on the taskbar and in Start Menu (Windows10), also listed in programs on control panel. However I can not find it in Program files and have not been able to reinstall the desktop icon. Can you help me? Leslie Booth ([edited email from public support forum])

After a recent Firefox updated 11/17/2025 I went to try and use Firefox as my default browser I realized that all my bookmarks that I saved for I can't remember how long a very long time (years) I lost it all and I don't have any backups bcuz I never had to make any and now after a new update I have zero bookmarks left I am very disappointed and angry at the same time bcuz if I put so much efforts on doing something I expect to know that what I did won't just get completely erased so I just wanna get that point across Firefox was my favorite web browser now I'm not so sure anymore anyway my email address is as follows [edited email from public community support forum]

This is the first time I have reset my PC after switching to FireFox.

As far as i was aware, I had an account that allowed syncing.

Anyhow, I've logged into what I had thought was my account, yet it is empty.

Is it possible to have multiple accounts from the same email address?

If i provide my email address, can someone check to see what the issue is?

I'm 99.999% sure I have the correct email address.

I am trying to preserve my POCKET data before it all goes away. Mozilla responded to my email requesting data but when I opened the link I got this message that "the provided token has expired : despite it being less than 24 hours. Plus a lot of other characters meaningless to me. What can I do now?

Have an old list of bookmarks that was imported from an old pc running widows vista to a new HP machine that shows as a firefox document on the desktop, List is outdated and needs to be edited with deletion of some of the old listings but can't figure out how to do that ???? I bought a new computer 7-1-25 and I wanted to contact you about problems with your update, but it rejected my Acct Key - and when I looked at the email I got with the acct key it said Windows 10 - which tells me someone hacked my old acct because I have Windows 11 as of 7-1-25!

It seems the only option to sync info between the Mac and iPhone is everything.

My Mac has Thousands!!! of bookmarks. And a long History.

I want less than a fraction of that info on my iPhone.

How can I be super-selective in what is synced?

I have lost all of my bookmarks, bookmark tool bar after Firefox's last update. I have spent the last day trying to recover what has been lost but I am having no luck in getting everything back in place. I have tirelessly gone over all your possible remedies and get no results. I can't even send a message to Mozilla through their help messaging system. My only recourse appears to start using another web browser. If I can't talk to someone who can help guide me through a mess I did not cause, then I am forced to find another company that is responsive to my problems. I found a folder on my desktop entitled Old Firefox data. It contains a folder entitled 3h0lsis5.default-release. It's almost 900 MB. Do I need this folder? Or can I delete it? Thanks in advance.

with the new function of Tab Groups i was wondering if it is possible, or can be added in the future, to sync existing Tab Groups to all or specific devices in order to access created groups on my private Macbook to my work Windows Firefox.
