My update preference for Firefox is to download but I will install it. But it consistenly (over the last numerous updates) changes it to Automatic. I do not want Automatic updates. I want to control when it updates. I do not see this issue addressed anywhere. I have checked numerous times. Please help! My sincere thank you for your time and attention to my request for help. We have recently purchased a new work pc and installed Thunderbird successfully. It happily shows our current emails inboxes and the contents. However it is vital that I can still access old emails that have been archived on the old pc 'locally'. I have these saved in year folders, 2022, 2023 etc. The sheer size of these archives is causing me a headache, as I cannot see how to move them easily; 2023 alone is nearly 5GB! To give it some context, we are an engraving company and as part of the process we send and receive artwork files, hence the size of the folder. Customers return to us year on year and expect us to be able to recall what they used previously, or remember an email conversation of previous years. The minimum I need to keep is the 2023 email, but 2022 would be useful too. I have tried looking on Youtube, but all the videos there seem to be about moving the the 'live' emails rather than those than the archived folders saved on the pc. Any help on how to achieve this would be appreciated please.

My wife and I each have an outlook account which we have used for many years. Both accounts are set up in the same way. Both accounts can send emails but only one ever receives emails from the office365 server. Forwarded emails are received by both. 2-step authentication is switched on with both outlook accounts and outlook.com + 0ffice365.com + gmail.com noted as exceptions in the TB settings. I have looked at the TB profiles but find the detail to be beyond my understanding. In case the Microsoft account password was not recorded in TB correctly I changed the MS password and had to enter that new password the next time I logged in. It did not help. There are no error messages. The problem has been around for about 4 weeks. TB 115.8.1 is in use

A completely fresh install of TB on Win 11 (on new machine - TB has not been installed on that machine before). I use "set up your existing email adress" and enter my values for my gmail account. It says "Configuration found in Mozilla ISP database". I Press "Done" and it immediately comes up with the error message "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password.". I never get a pop-up allowing sign-in to Google.

On my old machine, having an older TB, I was connected to my gmail account (using OAuth authentication), so it is not a question of settings on the account. I have looked at all the suggestions I found by googling the problem and both cookies and JavaScript are enabled (I have literally not touched any settings, I attempt to set up this account on the first open of TB). In all the accounts i found from people having similar issues with TB and gmail, people are at least getting the google sign-in window/pop-up, but I am not even getting that.

I don't know where the problem lies. I have a number of videos on youtube and when I was doing some work in markdown I clicked on an older link and was redirected to a website with some bozo trying to promote something - not mine. I tried a few more times and got a bunch of different websites and bozos. This is from clicking on the shared link on the the youtube page.

I don't know whether I've something on my computer, your browser that's causing it, or something somehow on youtube????

Got any suggestions?

I set up a Primary Password, but I can easily get around it by clicking 'cancel' then clicking 'home' icon. then I can get into ANY of the links. For others who have access to my computer NOT having that access is Exactly why I set up Primary password in the first place. Surely there must be a way to fix this???? haas2128@comcast.net Thanks. It's so bad that I might have to stop using it entirely.

I've tried creating new profiles, disabling all add-ons, and disabling Enhanced Tracking Protection; none helped.

As you can see in the video (about the 00:16 mark) it randomly stops properly loading pages from the website, even in new tabs. The only temporary remedy is to either close and re-open FF, or press Ctrl+F5 (which I did at the end of the video).

I must add that it can happen even when loading the website for the first time in the session.

Thunderbird no longer reflects the IMAP structure of Google Mail.

The latest version of Thunderbird, appears to lose the previous structure un an IMAP tabe and mixes Sent and other folders within a Gmail Email account that is connected to Google mail via an IMAP account.

Searching on the Internet, most replies say to back level to Thunderbird v 102 as version 115 has this change. Is there an intention to correct/remove this annoying change in a later release?

I'm a long time thunderbird user, recently I migrated my installation to a new PC and found that the global search does not work past January 2023 for my emails.

At first I thought this was due to my migration from my old PC. So I attempted to uninstall TB, reinstall and import the profile again fresh. This didnt work. Frustrating! However I went back to my old PC and entered a search term that should come up LONG past 2023 and yet even in my old installation the search halts at 2023. Now I am confused as to why?

Prior it has always worked on the older PC with no issues at all.

I really REALLY need to fix this issue, as it is necessary to use for my work, in order to reference on-going projects and work with customers.

I've included images of searching for a search term that should be found in many of the older folders, but not searching actively in those folders. I've also included an image of the older folder emails including the search term as being present.

Please your help is appreciated!

Since latest update i can not remove email threading, i have tried the VIEW route no option there, i have gone into settings and changed it that way yet still emails are threading, how can i remove this?

Hi, I've upgraded to Windows 11 today and couldn't open Firefox since. Things I've already tried:

• Reinstall Firefox and delete all old files (Appdata & Program files)
• sfc /scannow and DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
• Windows compatibilty mode
• Firefox Troubleshoot mode won't open either
• ipconfig /release & /flushdns & /renew
• netsh int ip reset & netsh winsock reset

When opening Firefox in any way, i get a white window/just the window border which immediatly closes. When trying to start troubleshoot mode, the small window has the same issue.

I also checked the crashlogs and none were generated. The Windows event-logger also has no entries.

I have no idea what to do - send help please.

I had 5 gmail accounts. 3 of which no longer work with Thunderbird. I've tried every tutorial and list of instructions both here and on the gmail help site. Nothing works. I even tried deleting one of the accounts and reinstalling it.

A couple of days ago I changed my password on one of the accounts. That's all. No settings were change, just the password.

Now I keep getting the annoying "Authorization" popup and can't access the account through Thunderbird no matter how many times I click on "Allow"

Whenever i put javascript code into the url box when making a bookmark, (trying to add a bookmarklet to my bookmark bar.) after i click save, the bookmark just doesnt even show up, its like firefox isnt even making the bookmark. i dont even know whats going on it was doing this before i had any addons

When you click on the player in YouTube, it lights up, how to turn off the backlight. If I click on the play button, the button is highlighted and I can’t press the spacebar to press stop or play
