Never happened before

For about the last 2 months, when I either get a notification that an update is available or I manually check for updates, both Firefox and Thunderbird are stuck in "Downloading updates -- 0 bytes" on 2 Windows 11 computers. Eventually, like a half an hour to an hour later, the update downloads and I can install the update. This has been going on for 2 months now. As a 20 plus year user of Mozilla and also a long-time financial contributor, this problem going on for 2 months is getting old. And yes, I have checked my antivirus and firewall. Is Mozilla aware of the problem and is there a solution?

When I installed Thunderbird on my new computer, it immediately downloaded 3,900 emails from Yahoo (It serves my ATT.com email account.) The process took several hours and I could not stop it.

My email folder on my old computer is located at: c:\emailtb1 where I have about 100 folders (I make a new folder after about 100 emails.) I tried to change my location for emails to my old location without any success. Thunderbird used to ask you for the location. Any location worked. Now, there is a complicated process re profiles, I think it is called. Why make it complicated when simple works? How can I change to c:\emailtb1 so I can view my old organized folders?

My old email screen shows the 100 folders including inbox, sent, trash, etc. on the left of my screen. Then I have four columns to the right for Subject, From, Recipient and Date. Clicking on the column headings allows me to sort, and I can add columns easily. The new screen on my new computer is an absolute mess. It is many times worse than what I used since at least 2007.

I have been using computers and email since 1984. I am so frustrated that I am looking for a better email program. Can anyone help?

I notice that pressing J highlights a 'scam status" logo appears on the same line as the message I want to send to Junk or Spam box. But highlighting the logo leaves me with another action which I assume is to sort by spam status and select all such messages and either delete them all or carry them to Spam. Is there a faster way to do this? Thank you Brian in Auckland, New Zealand

Had issues with Comcast emails. They were set up with POP settings. Was on the phone with Comcast and uninstalled 3 email addresses and reinstalled using IMAP settings. I did not delete the message data leaving that box unchecked. After about 1.5 hours on the phone with Comcast was able to get the reinstalled Comcast email addresses to pull all of the emails off Comcast website. But there are emails that are missing from each of the inbox and sent folders for each of the 3 Comcast email addresses.

I do an incremental weekly backup using Acronis True Image 2020 Home Edition. I see the folders in the path but since they were saved last Saturday under POP settings, the backups I will need to try to recover are in 3 of the Comcast folders in the "MAIL" folder and not "IMAPMAIL" folder which listed 6 folders from imap.comcast1.net through imapcomcast6.net.

What do I need to copy from the correct Comcast folder called "Profile" where the izpoojy7.default is? Within this izpoojy7.default is the folder mail.comcast-1.net which has 1 of the 3 Comcast email addresses I need to recover the inboxes and sent folder emails. Please see the attached photo of the contents of this mail.comcast-1.net folder.

Do I just copy the Inbox.mozmsgs as well as the Sent.mozmsgs files? Or do I also need to recover more of the files within the respective mail.comcast-1.net folder? Thank you for any assistance you can offer on this matter.

Firefox on Android extensions NoScript and UBlock Origin stopped working. Updated to v137, installed new extensions. Extensions still not working and not accessible on device, with arrowed circle-of-death showing. Android v7.1.1 on Samsung SM-J320V.

The title says it all. How do I know my crashed Dell Latitude 5500 (NOT E5500) , 512GB M2 NVME, 32GB DDR4 2400 RAM, W11 Pro x64 is now truly healed and with no glitches due to Firefox 137.0 x64 conflicting with Spectrum Security Suite (most current version by F-Secure {TOTAL} as of 03-31-2025) and thereby crashing the entire computer. I have recovered 90whatever percent functionality to the computer, but cannot take the chance of re-installing Security Suite if there is an unresolved conflict not yet addressed and corrected. I've seen the Mozilla Connection entry about another crash similar to mine involving a different Antimalware APP. And I have seen the posting about the fix applied to correct the same type issues with a Chinese provided Antimalware APP. Has ANYONE addressed Firefox 137.0 induced conflicts with other security APPS like my Spectrum Security Suite? I cannot re-install Security Suite until or IF the conflicts that crashed my Dell 5500 have been addressed and corrected. I'd had to use a 2nd backup computer to go online, find, download, copy to a USB thumbdrive, a "suite" of online security scanners AND proprietary uninstallers, copy all of those to the crashed computer, install the necessary ones, run the scanners to check for malware infection(s), none were found, THEN run the F-Secure uninstaller, successfully removing Security Suite. THEN I had to run Firefox in Safe Mode to find and correct all the damaged website URLs the crash involved. Some 30(?) websites I could not get to until i repaired them. NOW, how do I get Firefox 137.x checked for conflicts with Spectrum Security Suite and have them corrected so I can have my Firefox AND Antimalware APP running together? Every time Thunderbird is launched, a new tab opens with a donation offer. This kind of persistence discourages not only donations, but also the use of Thunderbird. How can I disable this?

My wife and I both have PCs on a network using an unmanaged switch. We both use Thunderbird as our email client. We would like to merge our calendars. Is that possible?

I'm running Thunderbird on Arch Linux. A few weeks ago the following problem appeared. When I start Thunderbird I can view my calendar as usual, and it is all in place. But once I click off the calendar back to email, any attempt to return to the calendar shows it blank until I restart Thunderbird. My various calendars are listed, but all appear empty, and Tasks are similarly empty. When on my email, the Tasks bar is still working.

I can see a similar question on the forum, to which the solution was to delete calendar add-ons. I have tbSync and its dependency installed; I tried deleting them (by moving the relevant folders out of .thunderbird and restarting) and this did not help. I have also tried reinstalling Thunderbird, which also did not help.

Thunderbird not displaying all new emails in the inbox. New emals are downloaded and visible in all other folders.

Problem started 2 days ago.

Checking on my cellphone using Google chrome on my webmail account new emails are shown.

If I quit Thunderbird and restart the new emails now show in the inbox.

What needs to be done to get All new emails showing up in my Thunderbird Inbox?

Whenever I search emails in Thunderbird, it does not display any in the results from the current month. This has been happening for a while. I get so many emails that at times I don't recall WHEN something came in, and I have to scroll and scroll to find it if I need to see it again. Very frustrating and time consuming. I hope someone has an answer, I've exhausted hunting for settings that are doing this.

Howdy everyone! I have been using the Internet pretty much every day since I picked my first android up, from the very early days i had learnt that security is "essential" with your anti virus/bloatware/malware and whatever else you could probably think of is potentially harmful to your device! Anyway, what I'm saying is why don't we have anything on our modern day social apparatus similar to a firewall qt all please?! Why aren't we using them and why at least aren't our phones at least now coming new with some type of security app that can help teach us how to make our own firewall or security systems!??! 🤔

My email host requires changes to connection settings (this is for an existing account), specifically to increase security but also specifying new incoming and outgoing server names.

I have meticulously copied the settings provided by the host for this purpose but Thunderbird will not (cannot?) connect to the server.

Thunderbird is not asking for my password, nor does the password appear in TB's 'Saved Passwords'.

So I tried 'Add Mail Account', entered all the new settings manually, but TB responds 'Incoming server already exists' (presumably because I had already changed the existing account settings?) - see screenshot.

Should I remove the existing account before trying 'Add Mail Account'? Although that would seem unlikely to work, since the existing account with the new settings does not connect.

Support from my email (and broadband) host has been practically useless, so I thought I would ask the wonderful brains on TB forum if they can give me any clue as to where things are going wrong?

There are only available sort "A-Z", 'Z-A', -"newest" and "oldest"

This is very inconvenient, because all of those are inconsistent with desktop Firefox, where manually sorted.

Please add possibility to apply sorting, same as on desktop.
