FF not remembering history

I definitely have FF set to remember history. I had at least 3 months of history stored. Yesterday I was running FF4 and I know the history library was showing all that was saved. Then at some point I wanted to access something from History and the Library showed no History at all. Furthermore, now it is not remembering any browsing activity at all any longer. I thought maybe it was an FF4 problem, so I rolled back to FF 3.6.17. But that did not help. I never cleared History. All of my bookmarks are still good. Is it possible that the history still remains in the profile folder but that the Library is not displaying it? Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks
