How can I start a new line in a message without double spacing?
The New Line (Enter) key always double spaces, which is intended for paragraph text. But for tabular text, this makes unnecessary white space. What key combination generates only a SINGLE new line character rather than TWO of them?
Example: Donor: xxxxx Email: xxxxx Phone: xxxxx Billing Address: xxxxx Bank: xxxxx; Account ending in xxxx
This screen defaults to single spacing; why doesn't Thunderbird allow it?

I looked around and found an answer: Menu (or Alt, Tools) Settings Composition HTML Style Uncheck "Use Paragraph format instead of Body Text by default"
Problem solved, if anyone else has this problem.
