please describe your problem in detail.
I am trying to set up thunderbird mail on my Mac Studio. I have entered the name, username and password for my Apple ID, and when I push the retest button it turns green saying it's correct. However when I hit the button continue it states configuration, username or password is wrong but it's not wrong. why is this doing this to me? The imap settings are correct, the port is 993, everything should be working but it's not. I am using macOS 15.1
any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I am not familiar with Apple, but my suggestion is to delete and resetup the account , but WITHOUT password. The initial intent of setup is to have server, port, etc. correct. Then, wait until Thunderbird prompts for password to enter it. Those steps may not work for you, but it does help separate the process of setting up the framework from the account.
