Firefox Update 115 (installed today) has caused connection problems
Hi, I have spent hours this morning trying to diagnose a problem with Firefox Update 115. It is Unstable and I can't Stream Music from Youtube or even Amazon Music. Web pages from sites I use everyday are out of order when displaying text as well. It's a real mess. Now, here's the kicker, I haven't been able to stream my music from both aforementioned websites, but get this, if I use the Incognito Browser, Music streams No Problem. Seems like you guys broke something in the main FF browser. I have spent hours trying to debug this and have concluded that your most recent Update has broken streaming links. I can't rollback the Update and that is even more frustrating. Please Fix This. BTW, your Help Pages really stink. Sorry, but they offer no help when the problem is clearly FF. Kind Regards, Joe White

Hi Paul,
The Basic steps you provided solve the problem, even with my overlaying text! I'm re-writing the steps below so that users can easily apply the workaround:
1) Open only One firefox Session/Window 2) Right-click on the Adblocker symbol and Highlight Adblocker Ultimate, then select Adblocker Ultimate Settings. 3) Select the Filters Option 4) Turn Off Security Option 5) Close your Browser 6) Restart a New Browser, repeat steps 2 and 3, then turn on your Security Option 7) Close the Firefox window again and reopen a new window or even multiple windows. 8) Problem Solved!
Having been in the computer industry as an Engineer for 35yrs, I realize the importance of a clear step by step process to apply changes for a fix. It works properly now! THANK YOU PAUL and Onenight for your Quick and Easy Workaround. Your Dedication to solving a problem like this, especially over a weekend shows your dedication and Expertise! Traits sorely missed in todays computing/Customer Service industry. My Hats off to both of you;-) Adblocker Ultimate with Firefox provides a combination of mostly Add Free Browsing and I have used Firefox and Adblocker Plus for at least 15yrs and There is Nothing I would rather use. A Dedicated and Thankful User! Joe

This would suggest it is one of your extensions causing issues, try disabling them. Do you have "AdBlocker Ultimate" installed by any chance?
Hi, Yes, I am running Adblocker Ultimate. However, since everything was running fine Before the Update, I would suggest that there is a problem with the Update itself that needs to be addressed. Also, sites like Amazon in my Orders Page the text is out of order and text is overlayed on top of other text. I just tested youtube turning Off Adblocker and it does appear to work. Kudos to you:-) However, I would like to remove this Update from my FF Browser because I can't stand these adds from youtube...I Love Adblocker Ultimate and I expect it to work as before with youtube on regular FF Browser. Can you help me to rollback this update? I Do Appreciate your help. I thought Mozilla would have Tested this Update better;-) Joe
Zeroknight, Attached is a screen shot of my issues with the text on web pages like Amazon. I Blacked out my personal information using paint. This is the other part of Update 115 problems. Hope to hear back from you or someone because this update needs to be addressed and possibly removed from my FF Main Browser. Again, I use my laptop daily, I've had no problems until I updated this morning. Thanks Again Joe
It could have been caused by the AdBlocker Ultimate filter rules being updated rather than the Firefox update. uBlock Origin is a good alternative.
I had the very same problem this morning. The search bar in Google would allow you to type in, but when you hit "search", that text would go blank. Also, Google maps would not allow me to do ANYTHING, and our local on-line newspaper had all the photos blanked out. I THOUGHT I HAD A VIRUS!
I went to the Firefox "Help" feature and clicked on "something" ... maybe safe mode? I cant remember. All I know is that Firefox started to act normal again and everything is working as it should.

Hi wvsky, Well it appears this latest Update is causing numerous problems...I Suggest Mozilla Stop it's distribution and allow Users to Rollback until it can be better tested. This is Why I manually control any updates to my computer. At least I have a clue as to "what just changed" and can more easily eliminate the usual variables like a "virus", LOL. I did the same thing as you and ran a Virus scan. Hopefully this thread will help Mozilla act accordingly on the problem(s) thus far encountered by Users in a single day...Zeronight appears to be handing it, and hopefully we will get some resolution to more than just or three problems so far experienced. Joe
Hi
We are currently looking into this issue with respect to Adblocker Ultimate. Until it is resolved, I suggest that you temporarily use a different content blocker and we will come back to you with news when we have it.
Hi Paul, Cool! I just sent an Email to Adblocker informing them of this problem and a link to this thread. There are more problems here than just with Adblocker (The Best AdBlocker by Far!) and I' would Never Stop Using your product because I can work around the problem for now. My other point is that there are definitely other issues with this Update 115.1.0esr(64-bit) version and I hope the distribution will be suspended and hopefully fixed. I Appreciate Your Response!:-) as well as Zeronight! Let me know whats up on this thread and I will be checking it periodically. My Very Best! Joe
Will do, thank you for your support, hopefully this can be resolved soon.
Hi
I understand that we may have a fix for this problem.
- Open AdBlocker Ultimate from the toolbar icon and select Settings.
- Next, select the Filters tab in the page that opens and turn off the Security option.
- Close the page and then repeat the process, but turning the Security option on.
Does this help fix the issue?

Thank you for contacting Mozilla Support.
I have no idea how this got fixed for me, as I didnt do anything except go from safe mode to normal mode. When I went back, everything seemed to be working. I do know it was scary for awhile because I use a website with pop up google maps, and they were blank. Once I returned to normal mode, they appeared again.
