Your settings is in a separate plate from the Firefox install. The Firefox Accounts is not a backup service.

To make sure you have your Bookmarks and other settings after a OS update, you may want to backup your Profile(s). https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles
