With the latest update to TB, it does one of several things when I right click on a highlighted mis-spelled. It will not show the menu to copy paste etc. Nor a choice of words. Sometimes it will delete the sentence, which I may or not get the sentence back using the edit. After several tries, I usually can get the menu to show. It will also correct a spelling error, but with some off the wall replacement once in a while.

what OS are you using what version of Thunderbird?

re : It will not show the menu to copy paste etc. Nor a choice of words. do you still see this issue if you start Thunderbird in Safe Mode?

'Help' > 'Restart with addons disabled'

This is where you can switch on or off Spell check options.

Menu icon (3 lines) > Options > Options > Composition > 'Spelling' tab

In a Write window, under 'Options' on the 'Menu Bar' toolbar, you can also locate various spell check options which you can select or deselect.

OK, I had previously tried all the answers above except one which appears to solve the problem. What I did was uncheck spell checker in the write mode under tools, "spell check as you type". Restarted TB and then rechecked "spell check as you type" under tool in write mode. So far this has corrected the right click problem. Thanks for the info!

More information on spell checking while composing and email. If you place your cursor at the end of the misspelled word and right click then auto replace of the misspelled work will occur. If you highlight the misspelled word and right click the menu appears with choice of misspelled words and etc.

Again thanks for the above information.
