My email provider places junk mail in an IMAP folder called Junk. Every time I receive spam, the new mail notification icon appears in my system tray, and the folder turns blue. How do I disable this?

I have tried making a filter matching Junk Status is Junk (filter after junk classification) and marking the messages as Read, and also matching all messages (filter before junk classification). The filters work when they are manually run, but not when getting new mail, even though the "Getting New Mail" checkbox is checked. I found an extension that theoretically works for this, but is not compatible with the latest version of Thunderbird.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
