Why is Firefox deliberately resetting search engines to Yahoo regardless of my continual resetting of my preference for Google?

This feels very much like a deliberate act. At least ten times in the past three months I have changed my search engine preference to Google. I have even gone as far as deleting Yahoo off of the list completely so Firefox couldn't choose from it. I have had Firefox for almost if not over a decade. I was just forced to delete it out of frustration. I search everything on google. But you seem to have been paid off by Yahoo to reset everyone's search engines to yahoo no matter what they want. It didn't use to be like this. I even waited for an update and still you are resetting me to Yahoo every single time I close the app and reopen it. Why?

Firefox has chosen yahoo as the default search engine. But still you can use google or other search engines. Here's how to do this:

- Click on the search icon in the search bar (which is located in the left of the bookmar button). - Select change search settings. - Add Google as your default search engine. - Untich the yahoo serach engine. - restart your browser.

This may solve the problem. If not then please inform me about this.

Some search engines get installed by ad-ware. Even changing back to itself if you change your settings.

1) Open your Add-ons Manager, and disable Yahoo anything. Hot key; <Control>(Mac:<Command>)<Shift> A)

2) Open your computers Programs Folder. Remove Yahoo anything.

3) Read the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Once the computer is clean,

Bookmark and use this; Mozilla Search Reset {web link} This add-on is very simple: on installation, it backs up and then resets your search preferences and home page to their default values, and then uninstalls itself. This affects the search bar, URL bar searches, and the home page.

Settings Guard for Firefox {web link} Detects and resets changes to settings that are frequently done by add-ons and application installers.

I live in Holland and have the same problem. I have tried every solution on this forum..problem seems fixed until I restart FF and Yahoo is back again! Have run malware and adware scans, checked and rechecked add-ons, dragged and dropped new URLs into Home icon, reset search. I am trying clean reinstall. If that doesnt work I will look for older version of FF. And if THAT doesn't work I am giving up and switching to Chrome.

Try the add-ons I posted above. But also see;
