How to add F-Secure to my search engine

My security is F-Secure and it tells me I need to add it for use when browsing with Firefox. They gave me directions on how to add it to Firefox but I can't get it to work: open Firefox browser - check. Locate Tab page, install Add-ons... check. Verify that addon is F-Secure - can't find it or see where to write it in.

When you installed F-Secure, it may have pushed some add-ons into Firefox automatically. You can check what Firefox recognizes as having been installed on its Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then look for "F-Secure SafeSearch" and "Online Safety" (or if they have new names, the latest names) on the right side. Note that any disabled extensions are all the way at the bottom of the list.

If Firefox did not detect these add-ons at all, you may need to use the Options/Settings within your F-Secure product to enable or otherwise push them over again.
