My guess is that you were using an add-on for that and either the add-on is disabled, or you might have used the Reset feature and the add-on and related data were removed. If you used Reset, there would be an Old Firefox Data folder on your desktop containing your old settings. Can you find that?

Note that your System Details List shows multiple Flash plugins.

  • Shockwave Flash 15.0 r0
  • Shockwave Flash 14.0 r0

You can find the installation path of all plugins on the about:plugins page.

You can check the Flash player installation folder for multiple Flash player plugins and remove older version(s) of the plugin (NPSWF32) and possibly (re)install the latest Flash player.

If I reset and go to the file on my desktop, can I choose which plug-ins/extensions to reinstall & do they contain all the old data? Thanks. I'm particularly interersted in Speed Dial and Last Pass.

Hi mschannon, I am not personally familiar with Speed Dial. Is it this one: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/speed-dial/ ? I don't see any information on the author's site (http://speeddial.uworks.net/) about where the data is stored, so I don't know how easy or difficult it will be to copy it to your newly created post-Reset profile folder.

LastPass does not appear to store its data in your Firefox profile folder (see LastPass - Help Center - Where is my data stored on my computer?) so a Reset should not affect its data. You might need to reinstall its add-on, however, if it does not show up automatically.

Thanks for quick response. Yes, you've got the right Speed Dial & since I use it in place of history, losing it would be a wee painful. Good news about Last Pass, though. I guess I'll give the reset a try.

I was looking for you JSCHER2000 you helped me last time - I had some difficulty getting all my speed-dial thumbnails - to return to base and be available But I would like to contribute a small idea of mine Once you get your speed-dial back - however you do that - click to make it a LIST - not thumbnails and print it off - so you have a copy of all the url's you see that way - if it does disappear you are not up THAT creek without a paddle and in a barbed wire row-boat because the url's awill beall to hand Sure it is tiresome - but SURE it works I have the "Old Frefox Data" on my Desktop and I hope you like my idea
