a popup that wants to scan and I don't know where it came from
Every day when I come back to my desktop when I had the computer on "sleep" it has this pop up about how I should scan my computer for viruses. " Pro optimizer" or something like that wants to do the scan. Should I scan with an unknown scan pop up? I use "avast" for security.

You have a fake anti-virus virus (impersonates an anti-virus program to try to scam you out of credit card information, steal personal data, etc.)
You should either take your computer to reputable local shop (no big box stores), or try to remove the virus on your own. Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware is a good place to start.

Its a scam, but it should uninstall from control panel. Run a malwarebytes scan just in case.
