Until last week, I could open multiple Firefox windows simultaneously, say, one for email, another some news channel, etc. As of last Sunday, I can only open one Firefox window. I have tried repeatedly to start another session while one is open. The request is uniformly ignored.

So, I closed Firefox down (I verified this first), the tried to uninstall it but I kept getting the message that I must close all Firefox windows down before I can uninstall it. I tried it 3 times and got the same result.

So, then I tried to download the latest version and got the same message that I must close all Firefox sessions before I can install the latest version. I had already shut all Firefox sessions before I tried to install the latest version. So, I failed here too.

So, H-E-L-P!!!

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
