I am concerned about cluttering up my laptop. Will downloading the new version uninstall the previous version or do I need to do this? If I do it, how please?
Do I need to uninstall Firefox version 3.6 before downloading 5.0? If so, please tell me what steps I need to take. I have experienced degraded performance in the past when I have downloaded a software update and the previous version remained installed as well. I want to avoid this problem.

Your choice as to whether you uninstall the older version first or not, Firefox will install over the older version.
