Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, I didn't see any solution to my issue. I did detail in my original question post what my OS is, and all other info about my system. I have changed nothing that was on my PC before this issue happened. I have the same PC security package, antivirus software etc, provided by Bell Canada, that I have used successfully for years, and didn't have this issue previous to having to reformat the hard drive. I did go into the ad blocker program, but the only thing I can do is change the color of the blocked image.

I've been building my own PC's for about twenty years, and normally can fix most issues that arise. I've also been using Yahoo mail for a long time, and was always able to see the images, except for the last couple of weeks since the reformat. I can live with not seeing the images, but it's frustrating not to be able to resolve the issue.

If you can help great, and if you need any other info, please let me know.

Also, try running Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode. If it functions properly in that configuration, then one of your add-ons is the culprit.

It never cease to amaze me, when you least expect it, and have done nothing, things just start to work.

I followed your suggestion of checking the Yahoo page in safe mode, and it worked in safe mode, and worked as well in Internet Explorer.

I then rebooted the old box, and much to my surprise, with doing absolutely nothing, the red blocks are gone, and the images appeared, the page works like normal. I was fully prepared to disable the plug ins one at time to find the culprit. I have to admit, this is one of the strangest things I've seen in a very long time.

Thank you very much for taking your time, to help this old fella, and somewhat unknowingly I might add, solve a mystery. Were I able, I'd buy you a few cold ones for your effort.

As in all things, don't celebrate any so-called victory too soon.

Booted up the PC this morning, and the Yahoo Canada home page is back to red blocks and no images, on Firefox and Internet Explorer 8. There is one ad that is showing images on the right side of the page, but everything else on the page is red blocks, and no navigation arrows under the main news window. I can click on the empty block for the navigation arrows, and those still work. When I go to my sympatico.ca home page using Firefox, everything looks, and works, like normal. It's only the yahoo.ca home page that's messed up. I think that tells me the plug ins can't be the culprit, if they work on one page and not on another.
